Project details
Harit Kranti, the Green Revolution aims at promoting and increasing the green cover in rural areas of the country. Unlike towns and cities in urban areas, villages tend to evolve around nature for its survival. It has become a necessity for these areas to remain green with all the inherited resources. Closer to home, the Jhajjhar-Sonipat belt, in Haryana which is known to be an agricultural region, is also popular for the lack of greenery and trees. The President of Haryana Kisan Nyay Morcha Foundation, Col K. S. Chaudhary, led the Falhar Harit Kranti Project with Hara Jeevan, in 14 villages with 6738 fruit saplings plantations and 590 shady trees in and around hospital premises. The grafted fruit tree saplings were been planted in community areas like chaupal, parks, schools, grounds and to individual Farmers.
The villages involved are Rohad, Dehkora, Lohar Heri, Bhainsru Khurd, Bhainsru Kulan, Kheri Jasaur, Jasaur Kheri, Nilauthi, Khurampur, Barona, Pai, Pehladpur, Kirholi and Sohati. This project has not only enlightened the residents on the state of the environment and the dire need to save it, but has also proved to be an additional income to the farmers who work all year round. The plantations have simultaneously worked on the reduction of pollution in the belt, benefiting the society as a whole.
